Thanksgiving

For an accounting of our family Thanksgiving please go to my sisters blog . She did a good job of summarizing it. But, I was not lactating and I won, not her. She gets confused sometimes :)

Happy Birthday O!

Yesterday was Owen's third birthday. I cannot believe how the time flies. Please enjoy the pictures from our family celebration. Also, it is a kitty cat cake, that is what he wanted!

Snow, Halloweenie things, and cute kids

Here is a hodge podge of pictures from over the last month. I don't post very often so they just get lumped into one big group. This first charming picture is of Owen in jail- oh how I wish it were true!!! He really can be sweet and cute- I swear he can! Cute little Owen with his vampire teeth.
The first Snow (I know it was forever ago- but that's the way this blogger swings)

The ward Halloween party. Owen is a spider and I am a butterfly.

Ward Halloween party. Molly is a ladybug eating a spider.

Owen at Thanksgiving point riding the ponies. So cute, but a little sad. Those ponies just go in a circle over and over and it is a little bit sad.

Oh Molly, you are so cute and sweet. I love you.

High School Tag

So Fun!!
1. Did you date someone from high school? So funny. Not while in high school, which would have been social suicide for any self-respecting young man. But, after I graduated and went away to school and learned how to be a girl (with make-up, hair and all that jazz) & then I dated a boy from high-school that I had a huge crush on (during high-school) but he was always WAY TOO cool for me. Ahhhh, good times.
2. What kind of car did you drive? Um, I didn’t have a car. That would have constituted some level of awesomeness that I did not have. These legs were made for walking and that just what they did.
3. What was the most embarrassing moment of high school for you? Probably Junior Prom. UGH! I would post a picture of it- but I still am not over how horrific I looked. Shout out to Martha for doing my hair (Hideous) and to my hoochie-mama girlfriends who assured me that my dress (think circa 1985) was indeed beautiful and current! Sabotage!
4. Were you a party animal? Totally, if you consider a remaking of the Wayne’s World Bohemian Rhapsody video and taking my brother to a dance a party, then yeah, I am a party animal.
5. Were you considered a flirt? Didn’t even understand the basics, but I did wear a mean sweat pant and ponytail.
6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Both. I rock! Went on both band and choir tour and I was in the marching band! Sweet! Blake makes fun of me to this day.
7. Were you a nerd? Interesting question. What determines whether one is a nerd or not? Is it taking an extra 5th period so that you can fit in all your desired classes? Is it taking a ton of AP classes? Is it marching in the band and having ice thrown at you during the football half-time show? These are things that I will have to mull over while determining if I was indeed a nerd.
8. Were you on any varsity teams? Yes, the AP Calculus drill team. It was a self-appointed title, but one that I took very seriously.
9. Did you ever get suspended/expelled? Ha! Disobey authority!? It never even entered my realm of existence.
10. Can you still sing the fight song? I think that I can hum it and I could probably whip it out on my freaking amazing clarinet.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? I loved my seminary teachers and I also thoroughly enjoyed all of my English teachers. I love to read baby!
12. Where did you sit during lunch? before we could drive, we had our sweet table where we'd eat Chick-Fil-A. Afterwards, we'd cram into Roz the Golf and head to "BurritoLand"! yes, 6 of us fit in my 2door hatchback! (jeanna’s answer- dido for me)
13. School mascot? The tigers! I have the band jacket to prove it.
14. Did you go to Homecoming? With whom? I think that I actually did go to one Homecoming (miracles of miracles that someone asked me!) and it was Beau Burgi. I think that he was just trying to be nice to the nerdy girl in his ward.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? For the most part sure- I know that is sounds like I had a horrible high school experience. But for the majority of it I was happily oblivious.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? That my hair actually looked decent.
17. Where did you go for Senior Skip Day? Wasn’t that Seven Peaks Day? I can’t believe that I actually wore a swimsuit in front of all those high school kids. UGH!
18. Were you in any clubs? Oh you betcha! NHS (National Honors Society), French Club, Acapella Choir, the Band Geeks, and please don’t forget the AP Calculus Drill team!
19. Have you gained some weight since then? Yup. But for the most part I’ve actually liked my body better after high school.
20. Who was your prom date? Daniel Solen- so sorry Dan.
21. Reunions: been to any? Went to my 10 year last summer (yes, it has been over 10 years!!!!)
22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? Enjoy your youth; be nice to everyone- because there is always someone else suffering more teenage angst than you, and don’t wear sweatpants to school.

Old Friends and Milestones

Yesterday I was able to get together with a couple of my college roomies. It was really fun. Some people never change and your relationship with them never changes and that is a wonderful thing. These girls know things about me that I don't even know!!! Oh the stories we could tell.... I love them and hope we can get together again soon.

Sweet, sweet Molly is 6 months old today!! Oh, how the time flies by. I love this age. She is so wonderful and cute. She was 16 lbs 12 oz (big girl!) and 26 1/2 inches (tall girl!). She is a sweet baby and we are very lucky to have her. She literally is all the things Owen wasn't as a baby :) Ohhh, I just want to squeeze those cute little cheeks.

A Day in the Life of a Spit-Up Monster

So.... Molly spits-up... A LOT. I thought I would chronicle an average day of spitting up just so we could remember all the good times. Ahhhh, wasn't it fun when...... I will number the spit-ups and the outfits. Also there are a few spit-ups that were inconvenient for a picture (shocking!) so I would add about two or three dooseys to the ones below for a real count of the average day. Enjoy.
Spit-up # 1
Outfit # 1
Please take note of the projectile vomit to the side. It really is quite a talent, I am thinking of getting Molly a show in Vegas. Note the spread of liquid around the mass of the projectile, we've been working on that.

Spit-up # 2
Outfit # 2
She is quite pleased with herself and her performance here. Personally, I was a little disappointed- I have seen better from her.
Spit-up # 3
Outfit # 3
Just a cute little one. This one was a little preview for the one coming....

Spit-up #4
Still outfit # 3
Yeah, this one was awesome. I am glad that we didn't change her clothes after 3. Please take note of the trail of spit-up that leads to a little puddle behind her head- yummy.

Spit-up # 5
Outfit # 4
Another sideways one. How does she do it? My baby has MAD SKILLS!

Spit-up #6
Naked
So Daddy-o took one for the team here. I love it when Blake gets splashed and yes I mean splashed.

Spit-up # 7
PJ'S

You bath them, drench them in sweet baby smelling lotion and this is how they repay you. Dang it all, she is just too cute to get mad at her.

Spit-up #8
Outfit- I've lost count- it's a bib and we were at Costco

Okay, so the alien baby in these pictures is Molly. She launched one at Costco and Blake took some shots with his camera, hence the weird looking head and the tiny pictures. It is hard to see, but trust me, this was a goooood spit-up.

37 things

1. Do you like blue cheese? Love it. I love blue cheese salad dressing. It is my favorite.
2. Have you ever smoked? Depends on what your smoking…just kidding. No- I have never partaken. 3. Do you own a gun? Nope- I am not a gun fan. Blake really wants to get one though. I will have to find some way to distract him….
4. What flavor Kool-Aid was your favorite? Grape. In Junior high we used to temporarily dye our hair using Kool-Aid (the ones without sugar- duh!) It didn’t work well with my dark hair, but all my friends with light hair it work really well.
5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments? Always. I have a doomsday outlook on a lot of things. I am always positive that they will find something horrifically wrong with me.
6. What do you think of hot dogs? They are great.
7. Favorite Christmas movie? This is a hard one. It’s a Wonderful Life (although Blake insists that this IS NOT a Christmas movie- he is part Nazi) or A Christmas Carole with George C. Scott
8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Tea (herbal, OF COURSE!)
9. Can you do pushups? Yes. They used to be a part of my regular routine in college before I went to bed. I was positive that one day I would need that upper body strength. I can’t do them currently because I am afraid of pushing a clot (a more detailed blog will follow)
10. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry? I guess I have to say my wedding ring or else I will look like a jerk… But I LOVE earrings- I feel as if they make my large face (it's a little fat) look slimmer.
11. Favorite hobby? Reading, I have a reading addiction.
12. Do you have ADD? No- but I am positive that Owen does.
13. Do you wear glasses/contacts? No.
14. Middle name? Fordney- It is soooo kick-A. It’s a family name and I really, really wanted our first daughter to have it as a middle name, but Blake hates it. So sad…
15. Name three thoughts at this exact moment. Why does my chest hurt so much, is it infected? ( I just weaned Molly)- I need to clean up the house- I need to go turn on the baby monitor.
16. Name three drinks you regularly drink. Water, Tea, Milk
17. Current worry? Besides my Boobs (pardon my trashiness- but they HURT)- the kids, always the kids.
18. Current hate right now? Flies- There is one in my house and it is driving me bonkers.
19. Favorite place to be? Home or in Michigan.
20. How did you bring in the New Year? I can’t even remember- Ha! I am so much fun.
21. Where would you like to go? Michigan.
22. Name three people who will complete this. Carlee, Cathy, and Timmy :)
23. Do you own slippers? Yes, pink fuzzy ones.
24. What shirt are you wearing? T-shirt
25. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? With who? J/K ! Not really.
26. Can you whistle? Yes! I can do the super loud whistle.
27. Favorite color? Purple
28. Would you be a pirate? Sure. Especially if I looked hot dressed up as a pirate.
29. What songs do you sing in the shower? Whatever. Everything and anything.
30. Favorite girl’s name? Besides Molly, I like Grace.
31. Favorite boy’s name? Besides Owen, Andy and Bobby.
32. What’s in your pocket right now? Nothing- no pockets.
33. Last thing that made you laugh? The Office (reruns) When Jim comes to work dressed as Dwight- so funny.
34. What vehicle do you drive? A freaking awesome 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix- don’t be jealous!35. Worst injury you’ve ever had? When I was going to Weber I had to go to the business fair for one of my classes. I was dressed in these black pinstriped pants with a cuff on the bottom and a white dress shirt with a super cute pink sweater vest with black piping. Now why am I describing my outfit- because of the pink vest- I HAD to wear my pink stilettos with a cute little bow over the toes. Anyhow…. We were leaving the business fair- going down those HUGE marble stairs and OH NO- my pink stiletto got caught in the cuff of my black pinstriped pants. It was awful and embarrassing. You could hear this collecting GASP (there were a TON of people there.) Any way, my arms were full with my purse, books, and pamphlets from the fair. I fell- no I crashed- down a whole flight of HARD, COLD stairs. Everything went flying. Cell phone, calculator, all my precious lip glosses. I was sooooo banged up. I had bruises everywhere. When I got home I had a bloody nose. It hurt to walk for the next week. To this day- I can’t wear those pants with any sort of heal for fear of them getting caught and taking a spill.
36. Do you love where you live? Love it. Love my house, love my yard, love my neighbors.
37. How many televisions do you have in your house? Technically 2- but one is in the basement and we don’t really use it. Blake doesn’t allow TV’s in the bedroom.

Jennie continued...

I had soooooo many pictures that I had to choose from. These are just a sampling of the woman that is The Jennie. She has been such a great friend over the many years. I love her and I am grateful for all the fun memories she has provided. Enjoy all the awesome pictures!!!
